Consolidating Procurement Systems for US Census Bureau

Client: The US Census Bureau
Focus: Generative and Evaluative Research
Research Methods: In-Depth Interviews, Workshop Facilitations, Personas, Prototyping, Remote-Moderated Usability Testing

I. One problem, many systems

The US Census Bureau’s Vendor Management Office manages hardware, software, and service purchase requests. Currently, the different type of request are handled by different platforms leading to inconsistent experiences for users, inability in tracking inventory and budgets thus yielding unreliable data, all exacerbated by complicated and overlapping approval chains.

To overcome these challenges specifically, the group seeks to consolidate its process and technology platforms to a single point of interaction across the Bureau.

II. Understanding and developing alternatives

The work is sensitive in nature, and while I can't go into the exciting specifics here, I am happy to discuss this project in further detail over a call or email.
